Glastonbury #2 - Glastonbury’s Sacred Sites
Your one-stop, in-depth guide to Glastonbury’s sacred sites and why they’re worth the visit. I share stories and legends, how to best plan your trip, and information on entry and opening times. Travelling to and through Glastonbury offers seekers and pilgrims from across the world knowledge, spiritual awakening and unique experiences. On my first visit, I didn’t know what to expect, but I followed the trail recommended by others. I hope this post inspires you to visit if you haven’t already, or to journey deeper into yourself and ancient Avalon if you have.
Glastonbury #1 - The Legend of King Arthur, Morgan le Fey and Avalon
There are some places in the world that we feel a special connection to. Sometimes, it’s because of something conscious - a memory from our childhood or a pleasant experience for another reason. Sometimes, it’s on a deeper level - the subconscious or, you could say, the soul. When this happens, it can feel like we’re just about to remember the reason… like it’s just at the tip of our tongue… it’s… … oh!… and it’s gone.
We can’t name it but we feel a piecing-together inside and a sudden connection to the ground, meaning the Earth, and the present moment. The mental chatter quiets, and our eyes and mouth widen in a knowing smile. What is known is not consciously known, but something in the unseen within us knows.
Ireland Road Trip #2 - A Day and A Half in Dublin

Straight away, we headed out to dinner - your classic newly-arrived tourists search for a good first meal. After walking for a while around the busy central Temple Bar area (fun fact: named after the Temple family who built in the area, and the word for a raised sandbank or hill, which is ‘barr’; not for the abundance of bars found there today), we picked out a Spanish spot. It had a free table outside, looked cute and friendly, and the vegan options for me sounded tasty…
Ireland Road Trip #1 - I left a piece of my soul
Ireland was a dream. I have a new understanding of ‘I left a piece of myself there’, because I literally feel like I have. I find myself constantly drawn to thinking and day-dreaming about it. I’m trying to pull my energy back into my body and back into my life here, now, and I can’t. It’s like a tenth of my being is left in this other country, but that tenth is as strong as the other nine parts. So, I keep asking - why is that? What was so unique about this trip that my soul clearly knows, but my human consciousness doesn’t? …
Intro to this Travel Diary
I’m opening up this new space on my website for writings and musings inspired by travels and trips.
I’m not quite sure what will unfold yet, but as writing has always been my most loved form of expression and I write a lot for myself, I’ve decided to step out of my comfort zone and share some of these more personal snippets of life.
For now, welcome to this more hidden part of my online world…
